GCSE Results - posted 24th Aug

Principal Phil Matthews said, ‘’I would like to congratulate all the students on their excellent results this year and I am delighted with the attainment and progress of our students. Figures show that 64% of students achieved Level 9-4 in both GCSE English and Maths through the new grading system. 75% of students were awarded 9-4 in Maths and 69% of students were awarded 9-4 in English.

A Level Results - posted 24th Aug

Hailsham Sixth Form is again celebrating an excellent set of A Level and vocational results. With a 99% pass rate at A Level, and three quarters of grades awarded at A*-C, this September will see over half of this year’s cohort making the transition to higher education at universities around the country. Vocational courses continued their strong showing, with the average grade awarded an A. Students opening outstanding results today included Mary Adeniji, A*A*A moving on to study Medicine at Cambridge, Madeleine Lusted, A*AA studying Law at Bristol, Jack Ralph AAB studying Law at Sussex, Millie Chatfield, AAB studying Exercise and Sport Sciences at Exeter and Connor Southgate AAC studying Geography at UCL.

Letter from Ofsted - posted 29th Mar

I am delighted to be able to inform you that following the recent Ofsted inspection of our College, the formal judgement has been made that we not only continue to be a ‘good’ school but the Inspectors made it very clear in their feedback that we are indeed a good and improving school. It was also hugely validating that the feedback contained a resounding endorsement of the journey we have been on and recognises the hard work, commitment and support provided by everyone associated with the College.

School Funding - posted 9th Mar

You may be aware of the campaign that Headteachers in other counties, such as West Sussex have launched, in order to protest at the lack of school funding and the effect on our children and young people. Headteachers and governors in East Sussex have decided to do something similar and we would like to ask you to join in. Please find attached a letter from the Principal which mirrors letters sent from East Sussex schools across the county asking you to support this campaign and write to your MP.
