Hailsham Sixth Form – Yr10 Taster Days
We are extremely excited to announce that once again, we will be holding TWO Sixth Form Taster Days here at Hailsham Sixth Form, on Monday 8 July and Tuesday 9 July 2019, for Year 10 students from all East Sussex schools and colleges. Hailsham Sixth Form’s popularity has seen managed growth over the last five years, and we currently have students from 10+ local providers studying with us. We are delighted that each one of these students has supported us gain a reputation as a welcoming and developing Sixth Form provision, ensuring every young person develops their full potential before leaving us.
As has been the case previously, students from Hailsham Community College will take part in both taster days, whilst those students joining us from other schools and colleges should select one preferred date on which to come join us. Please note that Period 5 on Tuesday 9 July will be a group activity.
Students should select the appropriate number of subjects on offer for their chosen days, with careful consideration given to future aspiration, enjoyment and a general interest in the subject taster. Please be assured however, that any choices made on the taster days will not in any way affect the decision-making process in September 2019.
On each taster day students should meet in the Main Hall at 8:30am before making their way to the first taster session. As per the normal College day, lessons will finish at 3:05pm. Students may wear their own clothes and bring their own food and refreshments.
The highest of behavioural standards will be expected throughout the day and we obviously reserve the right to follow College policy and remove students from the day(s) should anyone not engage with the process as expected. Students joining us from other schools and colleges should be sure to inform their own institution of their absence so that the appropriate absence mark is recorded.
The Subject Choice form is available below:
The form should be completed and returned no later than Monday 10 June 2019.
I do hope your son/daughter enjoys their day with us and we can go some way to showing what a positive place Hailsham Sixth Form is for those who want to achieve their very best.
