SubjectOverview of Subject
Business (Single or Double A Level equiv.)BTEC National Business is an exciting and relevant course that gives students the chance to develop real world business understanding.  It is a varied and challenging course that uses the very latest business thinking in areas such as marketing, finance, management recruitment and international business.
Dance (Single or Double A Level equiv.)Develop your technical skills in a variety of different dance styles, as well perfecting  performance techniques as a dance practitioner.  You will also learn the theory that underpins your practice from choreography in professional practitioners as well as key dance styles in order to ready you as an all rounded practitioner for the dance industry or associated career.
DramaAn active and mostly practical course, but which has a new examined element.  You will  explore both contemporary and classical texts and experience a range of performance opportunities throughout the two year course.
Health & Social Care (2 A Level equiv.)BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 Diploma is an applied vocational course for all those  interested in Health studies with a future view to working in the Health and Social care  sectors. Recent students have gone onto careers in medicine, midwifery, paramedic service, childcare and social care.
MusicA Music Performance course which also includes studying the music industry.  You will be  assessed both internally and externally and study a range of units that include ensemble  performance and a choice of specialisms ranging from solo performance, composition and session styles.
Applied PsychologyPearsons BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Applied Psychology is an exciting new course that will introduce students to the discipline of psychology. With the rigour of an A level but with the flexibility of a course work based course, this BTEC develops knowledge and understanding as well as practical and technical skills. Suitable for anyone interested in the study of the mind and human behaviour
Public  Services (Single or Double A level equiv.)If you are potentially interested in working in the uniformed public services then this course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and attitude to be successful. Lessons are a mixture of practical and theory with a strong teamwork theme throughout. An extremely successful course that year on year sends students off to careers with the police, ambulance and fire services as well as the armed forces.
Applied ScienceA course that looks at aspects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with a particular focus on practical skills. 60% of the grade comes from external exams and 40% from internal coursework. You’ll learn about Astronomy, investigative skills and loads more. The course is a great way into using Science as a practical career.
Sport (Single or Double A level equiv.)A sports focussed course that is practical in its delivery and heavily work related so as to lead into a huge number of career paths. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will also focus on a particular subject area and develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge. These courses are vocationally based which means all units are either internally assessed, externally assessed or part of a written and synoptic exam.
Travel & Tourism (Single or Double A level equiv.)This course is equivalent to one or two A levels and is for those who want to work in the exciting and rapidly changing travel and tourism industry. Even with COVID-19, there is ample opportunity to be prepared and ready for when the industry rebounds and employment opportunities rapidly become available. You will benefit from participating in a range of educational visits throughout the duration of the programme to iconic attractions. You will develop your communication and employability skills for the Tourism Industry by taking part in a range of activities including customer service, events and organising a study visit throughout the two years.
